I am a marketer. I have worked on the marketing side and the product side for 15 years and continue to do marketing work. I like educating experts on pricing because I find it has been my mission to get people off the hourly rate.
How Did You Learn Value-Based Pricing? #
I picked up a copy of Ron Baker's Implementing Value-Based Pricing in 2013. I found it initially on Pirate Bay (Sorry Ron) and have gone on to buy multiple copies over that time.
That's how I learned the concepts and a way to use it.
But honestly I got a load out really just going and doing it with the customer in mind. Having good, solid value conversations, pricing the customer and leveraging my brand, and my positioning (strategy) to build a price premium.
